You twist it and turn it…

Something’s funky in the state of Denmark. It’s 80’s nostalgia outfit Private! The group’s debut LP My Secret Lover is tipped for big things in ‘08 after having made a splash “on the continent” last year.

My first impression of the album is still “meh,” but I do love the video for the new single “Crucify My Heart” a keyboard drenched, blue-eyed soul dancefloor anthem about the martyrdom of an unworthy love.

If Justin Timberlake were a goth in a Cure tribute band produced by Prince in a Bergman directed clip, it might look and sound something like this:

Major points and big “ups” for the synchronized whiter than white and oh-so ironic dance moves and the sassy, rain-coated, belting, big Afro’d diva-who I kind of wish was singing the whole bloody song to begin with.
